Taking a smoke. |
Jiri and I were out in Prague yesterday (near Vaclavske namesti), and saw this funny situation. In the picture above, there's a guy sitting on a sign and taking a cigarette break (on the second floor of the building), balancing with one foot on the building's ledge, while his buddy (standing on a scaffold) is doing some flashing work on a window. I just couldn't pass up this photo op. Really, the guy smoking reminded me of a classic book, The Good Soldier Svejk by Jaroslav Hasek.
Have a great day!
God bless,
Sher :0)
PS The photo quality isn't very good as it was taken with my cell phone--the only camera I had along that day.

Hi Sher
Well done for capturing this character sitting on the protruding sign, having a cigarette. Sights like this always make me wonder about the lack of health & safety laws in the Czech Republic, or more likely, the lack of their enforcement!
However, only having your mobile phone to take the picture - Sybille always tells me that you're not a proper blogger if you don't always have your camera with you to record something unexpected just like this!
@chaplain.cz: It was a moment that was too hard to pass up! I was thankful to at least have my cell phone camera!
Jiri and I were like you and wondering about the safety of that situation. This would rarely be seen in a big city back in the US!
Health and safety laws are very different here...as you said, it seems there's more a lack of such laws. It's a wonder more guys like this aren't injured every day...and a miracle passersby aren't injured from situations like this.
Yes...Sybille's right! Although that day I didn't have enough room for my camera...but next time, I'll have to make room!
Have a great day,
Sher :0)
Looks like in Turkey..))
Ha! That's funny. But what caught my eye was the sign he was sitting on...didn't realize you had DM in Prague too :)
@Internationmusing: This type of scene seems to be typical for this part of Europe and east! :0)
Thanks for leaving a comment!
Have a great day,

@Duni: Yes, we have DM here, and it's one of my favorite places to find wheat-free food! However, there is one cereal I found in Dresden that we can't seem to find here. It was a wheat-free version of cornflakes + dried strawberries. I don't remember the name of this cereal, but the DM there had it...and it was love at first taste! :0)
Have a great day,
